To enable the students to use the target language The students learned the structure “Are you Maria?” “I am ……..”, So it’s difficult and important to let them understand it can also be used to talk about the ability activities. 4. Teaching Procedures : Task1: Warming-up

Before class, get students to enjoy an English song ( You and Me )for about 2 minutes to warm them up. The next following let students talk about why we should study English.

The purpose of the task-based activities is to interest the students Task 2:Lead-in

1. Use the PPT to lead in the new lesson . I can show some pictures and teach the words and phrases: China, welcome , meet, thanks, you, I , yes, no, good morning, name, clock, what.

2. ask Students read the words and phrases together.

Let students get primary knowledge of English , they familiar to say hello to each other in English . thus they can be interested and curious in studying .

3. There are four names. Let the students listening and remember the following names. For example : Jane Maria Kangkang and Michael . and ask students read the names together .

1. Show the three dialogues . let the students looking , listening and understanding .

2. I need the students pay attention to the grammar . When other people ask for “are you ……?”. We should give a response “Yes, I am. No, I am not, I am ……”. We can not give a response “ no , I am not .” In England , it is impolite behaviour to say “no , I am not .” 3. when the people say “nice to meet you. ” to

me . we should give a response “nice to meet you , too.” There are two circumstances scenes to use the grammar. First ,when two people meet at the first time. And after, introducing by another person “ nice to meet you ” extend greeting to each other. Second, the acquainted person who have long time, no see, and meet each other by accident “ nice to meet you ” can express their glad emotion to meet each other.

4. Show some pictures of the actions and ask the students to practice in pairs together in class. Finally invite some groups to act them out in front of the class.

The purpose of the task-based activities is to let the students learn to cooperate with each other and practice the language points, improve the students’ abilities of speaking.

5. Ask the students read and learn the English letters together.

A a B b C c D d E e F f G g The purpose of the task-based activities is to train their communication skills and grasp the expressions in this lesson. Task 4. Listening

1. Ask Students

to open their books and turn to Page 2. Look at part 3b, look at the English letters and make sure the students understand the English letters and what to do. Then play the tape for three times. For the first time the students only listen to the whole general English letters. For the second time the Students pay attention to the English letters. And circle the letters with the same sound as B b . For the third time the Students pay attention to the time that the pronunciation. Ask some Students to check their answers.

2. Practice the conversations in 2a. Then make your own conversations.

The purpose of the task-based activities is to practice listening and improve the students’ abilities of listening. Task5: Play a game

1. each student writes one of the English letters ( big or small ) on the paper. And some students go to the front of the classroom and hand up their paper. If

you see the big letters, but yours is the small. Please go to together. For example: “B” and “ b”.

2. the first student in the first team says “ A ”quickly. The second student follows with “ B ”. and the other students follow with “ C D E F G A B ……” one by one.

The purpose of the task-based activities is to make everyone participate in the class and oral practice to improve students’ interest. It also can train their communication skills and consolidate vocabulary. Task 6. Summary

Summarize the key language points in groups , and show them on the screen to help the Students take notes.

The purpose is to teach students to learn absorption capacity Task 7. Homework

1. Consolidate and review the expressions of the lesson. Please imagine and some objects which have the same shape with the English letters. For example: ears are like “ B ”. The moon is like “ C ”or “ D ”.

2. Give yourself an English name after class.
