potential influence can change other people

After seeing those films, I have learned a lot from them. I get a truth that the potential influence can really change other people.

As what I have mentioned above, many people had got a new life through other people’s influence. Here I will give a few examples. In the film the Shawshank Redemption ,Andy really changed Red and Tommy. Red once said” Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.”From this ,we can see that Red has been institutionalized. But Andy changed him. Andy said ”Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!”In the prison, Andy always told Red that people should have hope, have the courage to pursue the freedom. Imagine if there was no Andy, what would happen? Yes, Red would killed himself just like Brooks ,because he has been institutionalized and unable to adapt to the society. So it was Andy who made Red persisted and finally had a happy life after he got out of the prison. There is also a significant change about Tommy. Under Andy’s influence, the young man was admitted to the high school. In the library which was built by Andy, people temporarily forgot the oppression, violence, fear, and enjoyed the life. Also, in the film Sydney White, Sydney changed the life of the seven boys who lived in the Vortax. Before Sydney came to live with them ,the seven boys only stayed in their dormitory, they never tried to join in the university activities, let alone make new friends .Sydney’s arrival completely changed the seven boys, they gradually became outgoing and talkative. At the end of the film, Gurkin finally found a girlfriend. We should know that Gurkin had never had a girlfriend before. So we can imagine how difficult for him to get one .Here we can say that ,to some degree, it was Sydney who helped Gurkin to get the chance to meet more girls and had a new life. This example also shows us that potential influence can change other people’s life. The film Dead Poets Society also has the same influence. As we all know ,John Keating was a very romantic teacher. He was very individual and not a traditional person at all. Keating was against the traditional way to analyze the poems .In his life ,he tried his best to convince the boys of his attitudes and showed that he lived his attitudes ,not caring about the possible consequences. It was precisely because the teacher’s teaching, Neil would let his talent show performance ,he first against the wish of his father ,to

realize his dream of an actor Knox finally dared to pursue his favorite girl, and he learned that life is wonderful .Charlie was fully liberalized himself, coward Todd found back his courage through Keating ,he was bravely enough to face the life. Finally, he jumped on the table reciting his poetry. Keating was like a captain, he was more than a student mentor , he was also the spiritual father who motivated them to grow .In his appeal, students deeply felt the joy of life. This example once again proved to us the importance of potential influence. Finally, in the film Forrest Gump, Gump changed Lieutenant Dan . Lieutenant Dan came from a military family and his family members had participated in every American war. He was very proud of this. So when he wounded in the Vietnam War, he wanted to be like his family fathers died for the country as a heroic death in the battlefield just as what he said ‘It’s my destiny’. But Gump saved him and gave him the courage to live. It was Gump who let him realize the value of life and the meaning of life. In the end, Lieutenant Dan had the correct outlook on life, and on the shrimping boat , he said thank you to Gump.

From all the examples above, we can see the potential influence can really change other people.
