A beading or sealing strip comprises a fabric covering 1coated with rubber or synthetic plastic foam 3 in which is embedded a continuous clip orseveral clips 2 designed to engage a supporting flange, e.g. on a motor vehicle. The clipsmay be of wire, or as shown, include tangs 6 to grip the supporting flange and barbs 7 toperforate and hold the covering. The clips may be united by an integral flexible spine, orby the flexible spine described in Specification 942,698. As in Fig. 4, a sealing strip has acushion on one side of the clips formed by the foam filling a channel provided in thecovering. Alternatively the proportion of foaming agent in the rubber or plastic coating isincreased on the half of the covering which provides the cushion. The clips are of steel oraluminium, but some 'dummy' clips serving mainly as supports for the covering can be ofcheaper, e.g. synthetic plastic material.
