摘要：An apparatus and process for the continuous manufacture of high stress, highdenier industrial yarn spun from polyethylene terephthalate polyester. A control systemcontinuously measures melt viscosity of the polymer both at the outlet from apolymerization zone and at a downstream location adjacent a manifold immediatelypreceding a plurality of spinnerettes through which the polymer is drawn into filamentarymaterial. Adjustments are continuously made to a meaningful operating condition withinthe polymerization zone, such as the magnitude of the vacuum therein, whenever IVinferred from operating data strays from a pre- established level. Adjustments are alsoregularly made at discrete short term intervals, for example, minute by minute, wheneverviscosity at the outlet from the polymerization zone strays from the pre- establishedlevel. Additionally, adjustments are made to that pre- established level of viscositywhenever viscosity at the downstream location varies substantially from the norm after amoderate lapse in time, which may vary, for example, between one-half hour and eighthours in duration.
