Teaching Plan for Topic 1 Section A, Unit2 Looking different

Learning objectives: 1. Words and expressions

Learn and practice the words of words: guess, have, small, nose, has, big, eye,

know, right, ear, hair.

2. Sentences structures and communicative functions

Learn and practice expressing key sentence structures:

① I have a small nose. ② She/He has long hair.

③ Do you have a big nose? Yes, I do/ No,I don’t. 3. Language skills and strategies

Ss can use “have/has” to describe people’s appearance.

4. Through the vivid teaching, we cultivate Ss to learn to cooperate with others and learn to keep the positive life attitude. Teaching Procedures Stage 1 revision Step1: greetings.

Step 2: T guides Ss to review what have learned in the unit 1. Stage 2: pre-listening

Step 1: T presents the new words of body parts with the pictures. Step2: T guides Ss to read the new words several times.

Step 3: T checks Ss’ understanding ( T invites a student to complete her dialogue)

E.g: T: What’s this?(chooses a picture and points at the picture)

S1: It’s a nose. T: What are these? S1: They are eyes ...

Step 4: T helps Ss to expand the sentences: It is a big nose. They are small eyes.

Step 5: T presents the new sentence structure with a pen and asks ss like this:

T: What’s this? Ss: It is a pen.

T: Yes, it’s a pen. It is my pen. I have a pen.

Then T guides Ss to look at her and says, I have long hair. I have a round face. And then T points at a boy and says, He has a big nose. He has a small head. T guides Ss to summarize the usage of “have and has”. Step 6: T asks some Ss to make dialogue with her to check Ss understand or not.

Stage 3 while-listening

Step 1: T guides Ss to talk about the picture of 1a and then finish 1b through listening 1a two times.

Step 2: T check the answers with the whole class. Step3: T explains the key points in 1a.

Step 4: T gets Ss to read the dialogue after her and then gets Ss to read it

by themselves.

Step 5: T gives Ss 3 minutes to practice the dialogue and then let Ss to act out the dialogue.

Step6: T guides Ss to listen to 2a and then fill the blanks. Stage 5 post-listening

Step 1 :T helps Ss to summarize what have learned in this lesson. Step2: T assigns the homework: recite the dialogue of 1a.
