my understanding of invisible poor in America

America,as the most average people in mind ,is the most affluent country in the world .Actually ,it is .When we mentioned the United States ,the picture of modern cities,tall and splendid buildings, the wide and clear turnpikes with luxury and fashion cars will accour our heads.People all live in big and gracious

houses,with well-tailered cloth.What's more ,America owns the so called first-class welfare system in the world.All this make us one particular notion :America so rich that no poor people in that glorious state.

Whereas, with my steps of learning America going more and more deep, I find such notion is just the luxury and glorious appearance of America.In fact, as other countries in the world ,there is a large part of poor people in US that is worth of consideration .They live in poverty ,low education ,poor payment.

Actually ,in terms of my way,I think the Hollywood films contribute a lot.Hollywood films seldom describe the unfavorable side of America ,but pay attention on American prosperous conditions.Which mislead us that America is always like that,life is busy but wonderful, city is all developed .while,like our China ,some backward cities still exist in America.Their economy is not so advanced and they live on rely on the agriculture.

Second ,as our text tells us ,clothes make the poor invisible too.the benefits of mass production have been spread much more in even poor countries ,everyone could afford to well-cut clothes.It is much easier for America to dress beautifully

than live comfortably .You can imagine a picture ,the whole street people dress well and look prosperous ,but maybe half of their bank deposit are small .

Third ,the poor are so weak a group ,they can't do anything to change their fate,but work in low pay.However ,for their low education ,how can they find a well-incoming job?Though policy of the compulsory education there ,children can receive free education until college .But ,for their poor condition of living ,most of them drop out on half way.A vicious circle,the poor are evenly more poor.

The poor are in the bottom of the society ,but the rich never have contact with them .The only care for poor with the purpose of deceptive show now become rare and pretence.The poor ,in a matter of case ,become more and more invisible.
