A 3-year-old boy who was lost in the woods for two days is now safe at home with his family. But Casey Hathaway told his rescuers(救援者) that he was not alone in the rainy, freezing cold woods. He said he was with a friend — a bear.

The child went missing on January 22 while playing with friends near his grandmother's house in North Carolina. When the other children returned but Casey did not, the family searched the area for almost an hour before calling the police.

Police formed a search team to look for the young boy in the nearby woods. But two days went by and — no Casey.

Doctors at the medical center gave Casey some examination. He was then sent to his family on January 25.

What can we learn from the special, very successful people in the world who make the impossible possible?

Lesson 1: Ways of creative thinking are needed

Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg both dropped out of college. They prefer to teach themselves because they like to develop their own ways of thinking. They think standard ways of teaching might stop people from being creative and having new ideas. Lesson 2: The answer might not be what you expect

Find your answers from facts-not start with an expectation of what you will find. Stephen Jacobsen believed what he was taught: that water on Earth came from icy comets(封星) or planets which hit into Earth.

However, by studying a special rock, he discovered that it acted like a sponge(海绵). This suggested that Earth's water might have come from inside, driven to the surface to form the oceans, by geological activity.

\"I had a pretty hard time making others believe it, \"he said. \"But thinking about the fact that you may be the first person to see something for the first time doesn't happen very often. When it does, it's amazing.\"

Lesson 3: A little luck goes a long way

Years of planning went into a recent achievement in space travel. The European Space Agency's \"Philae\, which was 480 million kilometres away. The trip from Earth by \"Philae\" had taken ten years!

The scientists had no idea what the surface of the comet would be like. If the landing failed, it would be impossible to get information from the spacecraft. Twenty years of work would have been wasted.

When \"Philae\" tried to land, it bounced(弹起) away from the comet's icy surface twice. Luckily, however, \"Philae\" landed successfully and began sending information back to Earth. The other day, I got into a car accident, which was clearly not my fault. The other driver was so busy on his phone that he went right through a red light and hit my car.

A traffic policeman arrived and started taking statements. I explained that my speed was about 55 km/h. \"So you were going about 50 km/h, my lady?\" he asked. \"No, I said I was going about 55 km,/h,\" I said. \"Right, so you were driving at a speed of about 50 km/h?\" he asked again. I was a little annoyed because I felt he wasn't listening to me carefully. So I shouted, \"No! I was going about 55 km/h.\"

\"OK, if that's the way you want it,\" the officer simply replied. Because the city speed limit is 50 km/h, I only got paid from my insurance (保险) company for the damage to my car, but the other driver's insurance company couldn't pay me due to my speed. I didn't realize it at the time, but it turned out I was getting him wrong.

(4)Although it was her choice to insist on telling the truth, the writer ______. A. understood that it was impolite to be angry with others B. would not believe anybody else except herself C. remembered the exact rules of insurance for ever

D. should say \"thank you\" to the traffic policeman instead of acting rudely 【答案】 (1)C (2)D (3)B (4)D
