sport I recently learnt to do, which is swimming. I did not grow up by the sea or by a river, so I did not know how to swim when I was a child. I only started to learn swimming this summer. But I had a very good coach and under her encouragement I conquered my fear and learnt to swim.I think swirnming is a good way of exercise, especially in summer. Before I learnt to swim, I usually jog twice a week but it is very difficult to keep due to the hot weather here in summer. However, swimming is a cool way to exercise and replace jogging in the summer. That’s why there are so many people in the swimming pool. Secondly, I think swimming offers me different feelings compared with other sports such as jogging or badminton. Swimming brings me closer to water and I feel like I am a fish when I am swimming. I believe I will try more water sports in the future. Moreover, I believe swimming is also a useful skill, especially during emergency situations; it may save my life in the future.I think swimming is important to me for the reasons above and I wish I had learnt swimming earlier.

Such skills are important as well, as children would need them when they grow older, for example, when they attend college.- Do you think future generations will need to acquire new skills? What kind?Yes, of course, I think future generations would need to acquire lots of new skills. For example, they need to learn using new electronic equipment because it is

developing very fast. Computers would probably update so fast that a set of new skills are needed to work with a computer! Besides, the way people interact with each other would probably change as well. As you see, smart devices are indispensable in our lives now, and they will become even more so in the future. This will change the interpersonal relations and thus generating new interpersonal skills for people to learn in the future.Skills and work- What role do you think skills play in the modern work place?I think skills play an important role in workplaces. Skill means expertise and brings profit to companies. In fact, companies hire people because of their skills, be them professional skills or interpersonal ones. Skills play a crucial role in increasing the competitiveness of an employee. Therefore, you will see various training courses offered to help people develop or update their skill kit. Why or why not?Yes, of course, I think the skills people need nowadays have changed greatly. I think people need to learn more IT skills than before.
