Unit 1 It’s taller than many other

buildings. 教学设计

一、教学目标

1. 能够掌握本课新词汇:hill, population, wide, million, than, get, pretty, pretty good 2. 能够掌握本课重点句型:

(1) So it’s a newer city than ? (2) …it will become as busy as . (3) What’s the population of Shenzhen? (4) Its streets are much wider and cleaner too. (5) It’s taller than many other buildings… 3. 能够听懂介绍祖国和家乡的对话。

4. 能够比较两个地方的不同,并与同学进行多轮对话。

5. 能够学习强化对形容词比较级形式的认知并且学习-er的发音。 6. 培养学生对祖国和家乡的热爱。

二、教学重点及难点

重点:能够运用形容词的比较级进行两个不同城市或地点的比较。 难点:形容词(单音节词和部分双音节词)的规则比较级形式及其使用。

三、教学准备

1. 多媒体设备和课件; 2. 设计课后巩固练习; 3. 教学图片。

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up 1. Free talk

Where is your home town?

Did you go to other cities? What are they?

Which city do you like best?

2. Look at the pictures of and Shanghai, and then talk about what these two cities are famous for.

【设计意图】通过师生互动的方式引导学生说出他们所知道的著名城市,以及和上海的地标建筑,自然地导入本单元话题。 Step 2 Pre-listening

Look at the pictures and learn some new words. 【设计意图】学习新词汇,为下面的学习奠定基础。 Activity 1

1. Look at the pictures and talk about them. 2. Listen and complete.

【设计意图】预先熟悉课文对话中出现的相关城市的背景信息,为理解主课文作好语言上的铺垫。

Step 3 While-listening Activity 2

1. Watch the video and answer the questions. 2. Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.

【设计意图】通过听力活动训练培养学生概括对话大意和获取细节的能力。 Step 4 Post-listening

1. Complete the passage about Shenzhen according to the conversation. 2. Role-play the conversation.

【设计意图】通过对话内容补全短文帮助学生再次巩固对对话内容的理解,再通过角色扮演锻炼学生的口语表达能力,将所学内容内化为自己的知识。 Language points

1. So it’s a newer city than ? 这么说它是一个比还新的城市? 比较级基本句型:

(1) 在对两者进行比较时,形容词要采用其比较级的形式。

(2) 若要说明其比较的对象,则用“than(比)+比较对象”来表示。形容词比较级句式的结构:A + be + 比较级 + than +B.

2. Some day it will become as busy as … 有一天它会变得和一样繁华。

特殊句型:同级比较句型as…as… / not as (so)…as… 【设计意图】初步系统学习形容词的比较级两种不同句型。 Activity 3

Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words. 【设计意图】及时考查学生对形容词比较级形式的掌握。 Activity 4

1. Read through the four sentences aloud.

2. Listen and pay attention to the underlined words and think about why they’re underlined. 3. Listen again and repeat chorally. 4. Practice the conversations in pairs. 5. Learn the comparative adjectives.

【设计意图】让学生掌握形容词的比较级形式-er的读音,并总结单音节和少数双音节单词的构词方法,为后面的实践与应用活动奠定基础。 Activity 5

Compare Shenzhen with their home town and then make notes in the table. Activity 6

Work in pairs. Talk about the differences between Shenzhen and their home town.

【设计意图】通过本活动,帮助学生巩固运用形容词的比较级形式来对两者进行比较,并提高口语表达能力。 Step 5 Summary

Summarize what they have learnt this class. Step 6 Homework 1. Recite the dialogue.

2. Preview the passage Cambridge is a beautiful city in the east of England on Page 12.
