是《在我看来，教育的目的是什么？》

Today my topic is “What is the purpose of education in my mind?”

“教育”一直都是国内外的教育专家们所谈论的一个热点问题，但是至今为止，很多人都仍然不明白我们为什么需要教育，我们为什么要接受教育？

Education is always a hot topic for both Chinese and foreign experts to search, but so far, only few people understand why we need to get education?

小时候，我的家人都告诉我，我读书就是为了将来我的人生，只要我接受了良好的教育就拥有渊博的知识，拥有了知识我就能找到一份好的工作，找了一份好的工作我就能有一段美好的婚姻。

My family told me when I was a little girl and I went to school just for my future life, accepting education means to learn knowledge, get a good job, and then have a very happy marriage.

不只是我，如果你现在去大街上采访一些行人，问他们教育的目的是什么，他们的答案和我家人给予我的答案大多数是一致的。

Not only me, but even for almost any others. If you go to interview some pedestrians on the street, asking them “what’s the purpose of education in your mind?” I guess most of their answers would be the same as the one my family has given me.

但是我们敢说这些话是错误的吗？当然不能。对于教育这个问题，我想表述一下我的观点。

But can we dare to say that all the answers are wrong? Absolutely not. For this question of education, I want to express some of my own points.

首先，教育最传统的理解就是传授知识，我认为接受教育最根本的目的就是增进我们的知识和技能，从而影响我们自己，最终改变世界。

First of all, the most traditional understanding of education is teaching you some knowledge, so I think the most fundamental purpose of accepting education is to increase our knowledge and skills, then influence our life, and eventually, change the world.

对于现在的我们来说，学校的教育似乎显得更为重要，在许多人眼里一个人接受教育的良好程度也就依据成绩来敲定了。

Now for us, school education seems more important, in many people's eyes, a person accept education good or bad depends on the result of their examination.

我们在课堂上老师传授的知识都是我们需要的最基础的知识。我认为我们这些作为被教育的人想要学好知识，应该在接受教育同时好好想想我们究竟想从老师那得到什么？只要明白了我们想学的知识，学习就有的方向和目的，自然而然就会学好。

All the knowledge that teachers impart in class is all the most basic knowledge we need. I think if we want to study well from teachers, the first thing you have to make clear is what you need. As long as we understand what we do want to learn, then we will have great direction and purpose to learn, naturally we will do it well.

例如，在我们班不仅是我，大多数同学们最喜欢的课都是外教老师的课，在他们的课上我们需要提高口语，学习更多关于其他国家的有趣知识，因此在他们的课堂上我们总会学到很多我们乐意去接受的知识。

For example, not only myself but also do my classmates’ favorite class is foreigner teachers’ class. In their class, we need to improve our oral English, learning more interesting knowledge about the other countries, so in their class, we will learn a lot knowledge what we willing to accept.

在我看来教育的目的还体现在另一个方面。我认为教育与其教授知识，更应该教授方法，如果能在一段时间内培养出学生们良好的学习习惯，并且让他们掌握方法，那么在他们离开学校后还是会知道该怎么去学习的；

On the other hand, I think the purpose of education is also to reflect others. That is teaching you how to live your life. I think education with teach you knowledge, more should teach their methods, rather than teaching knowledge but

showing the methods may be a better way of practicing education, so after they are leaving school, they still know how to study by themselves.

我也认为教育是传授一种谋生的技能，现在中国的很多大学和职业学校都是这个目的，希望经过培训可以让学生毕业后可以快速地找到好工作。

I also think education is the way which teaching you living skills. Nowadays, many Chinese universities have the same purposes as those vocational schools, they hope after training, can let the students find the good job quickly.

但是这个方面缺乏的是，没有人帮助学生预测今后的市场方向，也没有人知道学生可以怎样现实地根据自己的喜好选择自己未来的职业方向，往往就是学生什么都不知道，或者根据自己的猜想选择，后来发现却不是那个样子便很失望。

But the lack of this is there is no one to help the students to predict the future market direction, no one knows how can students according to what they do interest to choose their future career direction reality, usually students don't know anything, or according to their own choice, usually later they found it wasn’t like that way and they felt disappointed.

更深层地讲就是在老师教授知识的同时，教授为人处世，教授思想品德，价值观等等也是教育。

Speaking deeply is that while the teacher teaching knowledge, teaching communicates skills, teaching the ideological and moral education, values and so

on are also the education.

正所谓三人行必有我师，正如教育家陶行知所说：“生活即教育”。人生处处都是教育。

As what we said “Two heads are better than one”. As the famous educators Xingzhi Tao said “life is education”. Everywhere in your life is education.

准确的说教育是没有界定的。教育不仅仅是局限在学校的教育，教育更重要的是涉及做人，涉及人生很多方面的学习.我的观点是：教育终极目的就是尊重生命，是学会热爱生活。

Accurately education has no broad. Education not only restrictions on schooling, the most important of education is concerned about living and other in your life. My view is that the ultimate purpose of education is to respect life, is to learn to love life.
